It’s official, Katie Holmes has been Scientologized! What the heck is up with her hands? If you hadn’t noticed, the love of Tom Cruise has now been seen taking part of the popular ritual in Scientology, which some people know as the “Make My Hands Purple” ritual, or the more common term used in the circle called “Purif.”

Taking a look at Perez Hiltons’ blog, we see that some experts say:

Scientology founder Hubbard recommends dosages in his teachings that are well above the safe limits, in some cases as much as 142 times more than the toxic level [of Make My Hands Purple stuff]. The side effects of such huge overdoses range from liver damage, hair loss, brain swelling and nausea up to fatal heart and respiratory failure.

Poor, poor Katie is having to do a lot for her hubby Tom Cruise. I really hope he appreciates and turns parts of his body purple for him. What actually makes the purple coloration is the use of the drug Niacin. Large doses of niacin can cause liver damage, peptic ulcers, and skin rashes. Even normal doses can be associated with skin flushing.
