Patrick Swayze, famous for his roles in films “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost” has passed.  He had a 20-month battle with advanced pancreatic cancer.  The battle ended on Monday, September 14, 2009.  He was 57.

His publicist, Annett Wolf, told The Associated Press in Los Angeles that Mr. Swayze died with family at his side.  This is probably one of the best ways to go having the support of loved ones and providing them the opportunity to say goodbye.

Mr. Swayze’s cancer was diagnosed witht he life taking cancer in January 2008.

“How do you nurture a positive attitude when all the statistics say you’re a dead man?” he said to Bill Carter of The New York Times last October. “You go to work.”

In an interview with Barbara Walters, he said, “I keep my heart and my soul and my spirit open to miracles.”  “I want to live,” he said.
